A CHARITY event held at The Woolaston Inn, Ghurka Bar and Restaurant, has raised an impressive £2,300 for the Great Western Air Ambulance Charity, with funds now officially handed over to the cause.
Organised by Sophie Price, former landlady of the Rising Sun in Woolaston, and Sobit Gurung, manager of the Woolaston, the event brought together the local community in a wonderful display of generosity and support.
The event’s success was boosted by generous contributions from local businesses, including St. Briavels Meats and Haze Flower Farm,
Mrs Price, who has raised funds for the air ambulance over several years, was thrilled with the turnout and contributions: “It was a huge success all round. We had so many generous donations for the auction and raffle.” She also credited Mr Robert Cooke, who led the auction as their renowned auctioneer.
Both Mrs Price and Mr Gurung expressed their gratitude to everyone who participated, donated, and supported the event, saying: “We couldn’t have done it without the support of our wonderful community, and we’re already looking forward to the next one.”
The funds raised will go towards supporting the Great Western Air Ambulance Charity, ensuring essential emergency care for the region. The event highlighted not only the generosity of Woolaston residents but also the invaluable role local businesses play in supporting such worthy causes.
