DRYBROOK took the spoils on flanker Danny Price’s 400th appearance thanks to a superb defensive effort that locked out Regional Two Severn opponents Keynsham.

In front of the biggest crowd of the season, it was the type of hard physical encounter that Danny has thrived in, writes Chris Tingle.

The game started with a bone crunching tackle on Drybrook skipper Mitch Bourne which set the tone.

The home team were forced to defend their lines in the opening quarter of the match and worked hard to keep the visitors at bay.

When they did have opportunities they struggled to retain the ball through enough phases to cause any real threat.

The line-out was an area of concern, as time and again the ball was lost but it was Price who made the breakthrough.

From a penalty line-out in the Keynsham 22, the forwards drove infield before scrum-half Tom Treherne unleashed the backline.

Price took the ball and in typically belligerent fashion broke through the defence to score near the posts. Haydn Lewis converted.

The only score of the second half came when Sam Edwards squeezed in at the corner for 12-0 to ensure Drybrook to stayed top of the table.
