DEVELOPMENTS are underway at Newent Town FC as construction of their new clubhouse extension nears completion.

The project is advancing quickly, with the roof now finished and bi-fold doors installed, bringing the vision of an enhanced club facility to life.

A spokesperson for the club recently showed supporters around the site, offering a glimpse of the almost-complete space. "The underfloor heating is in, and the floor is down," they noted, highlighting the vast size of the new extension, which is set to transform the club's matchday and community experience.

When the plans were first announced, the extension was hailed as a major step forward for Newent Town FC, offering a host of exciting new features.

The larger post-match area will provide a vibrant space for social gatherings, allowing supporters to come together and share their passion for the club.

Direct access from the youth pitches will further strengthen the club's commitment to nurturing young talent, while the addition of extra toilets and another kitchen will enhance convenience for visitors during events.

Beyond matchdays, the clubhouse will serve as a community hub, hosting events, meetings, and celebrations for local residents. Club officials, including Chairman Dennis Stringer and Secretary Phil Clarke, are thrilled about the potential of the extension to increase local engagement and attract more visitors to the area.

"This is a significant step forward for Newent Town Football Club," said Clarke. "We're excited to create a space that not only enhances the matchday experience but also serves as a focal point for community activities."

As the final touches are put on the project, Newent Town FC will continue to provide updates on the progress and looks forward to sharing this exciting new chapter with their supporters and the wider community.
