GLOUCESTERSHIRE Fire and Rescue Service has been recognised for significant progress in workplace culture and fire protection following an inspection by His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services.

The inspection has led to the removal of two of three causes for concern previously highlighted.

The watchdog praised the service for embedding its values, improving leadership visibility, and strengthening support for staff wellbeing.

It also commended improvements in fire protection, including increased inspection visits and 24/7 fire safety support.

Chief fire officer Mark Preece said: “We have faced challenges, but we are united in our efforts to learn and improve. Changing and embedding culture is a gradual process, and we are yielding lasting and positive results.”

The service continues to work on promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion.
