SWIMMERS across the Forest of Dean are being urged to sign up for the Forest of Dean Swimming Club Level 3 Open Meet, which will take place at GL1 Leisure Centre in Gloucester on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th May 2025.
With entries closing on Wednesday, April 16, organisers are reminding all interested competitors to secure their place as soon as possible. Spaces are filling up quickly, and organisers are expecting a highly competitive meet.
The two-day event will be swum under Swim England Laws and Regulations and is licensed for entry into both County and Regional Competitions.
The meet offers a range of events for swimmers across multiple age groups, including Para-swim/Disability competitions, with all athletes swimming integrated with able-bodied competitors.
This inclusive meet is open to swimmers with disabilities, and a secondary strobe will be available upon request. All participants must be members of clubs affiliated with Swim England, Swim Wales, or Scottish Swimming.
Additionally, any para swimmers must present appropriate documentation, including a classification or Certificate of Disability, prior to competing.
Swimmers will compete in a wide variety of disciplines, including freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly, with medal presentations for the top three in each age category.
As part of the event's commitment to providing a fun and safe environment, all participants must adhere to strict health and safety regulations.
Swimmers and spectators will have clearly separated seating areas to ensure safe and smooth operations throughout the meet.
The competition is expected to attract swimmers from across the region, making it a perfect opportunity to showcase local talent and bring the swimming community together.
