A BODY has been discovered during the search for a 37-year-old woman who had been reported missing from the Forest of Dean.
Brindusa, who was also known as Maria, was last seen walking away from a property on The Keelings in Cinderford between 5 PM and 6 PM on Monday, February 17.
Concerns were raised after she left without taking her mobile phone, which those close to her described as unusual behaviour.
Gloucestershire Police launched an appeal urging members of the public to come forward with any information that could assist in locating her.
Search teams, supported by the National Police Air Service and Severn Area Rescue Association, worked through the night to try and find Maria.
On Tuesday, February 18, officers confirmed that a body had been found as part of their efforts. While formal identification is yet to be completed, Maria’s family has been notified of the development.
A police spokesperson stated: “Earlier today, we issued an appeal regarding the disappearance of 37-year-old Brindusa, known to many as Maria, who had been reported missing from the Cinderford area.
“A body has now been recovered. Although formal identification remains pending, her family has been informed. At this stage, the death is not being treated as suspicious, and a report is being prepared for the coroner.”
