HE'S broken every County League batting record going this summer, but Westbury-on-Severn opener Jon Tegg says helping the villagers get promotion to Division Two was always his number one aim.
Westbury clinched the title by beating rivals Slaughters in their final game.
Tegg blasted 119 not out – giving him a final tally of 1,142 runs for the season from 15 innings' at a whopping average of 190.33.
He scored more than 42 per cent of the team's runs this season and made four tons and eight 50s.
He only made two runs in his first game but after that he scored 67; 56; 144 not out; 25; 77; 76 not out; 78; 96 not out; 98 not out; 114 not out; 31 not out; 54 not out; 105 not out and 119 not out.
"It's not been too bad a season," said the former Gloucester City Winget batsman, who represented Gloucestershire II's and England under-19s in his youth.
