LYDNEY Cricket Club held its junior presentation evening at the clubhouse.
Special guest for the evening was Jan Thomas, the wife of the late Douglas (Dit) Thomas who passed away earlier this year, aged 97. Dit was a leading light of Lydney Cricket Club for many years, particularly through the 1950s and 60s when he was a regular scorer of hundreds.
Mrs Thomas donated a cup in her husband's memory which is to be awarded annually to the outstanding junior player of the season.
She presented the new trophy to the first recipient, under-13s captain Charlie Brett.
The other under-13s awards went to Jack Bartlett (batting), Oliver Stubbs (bowling) and Connor Mullan (effort).
The under-15s award winners were Alex Berrow (batting), Reuben Elliott (bowling), Jake Connolly (progress award) and Sam Haddock (captain's award).
