THERE was a special assembly at the Dean Academy in Lydney this week, for British Junior Grasstrack champion Callum Walker.
Callum, a pupil at the school, was met by grasstrack commentator Colin Martin, who presented him with his British title trophy as well as £100 to the Dean Academy.
Callum from Whitecroft, is gearing up to race in the British Speedway Championship, while also stepping up his grasstrack riding by competing in the European and World Championships.
His ambition is to become a professional speedway rider.
He's been hooked on bikes since his grandad took him to see a Grand Prix in Cardiff. He's been riding for around nine years.
In 2007, aged just eight, he literally snapped his arm off at the top of the socket in a grasstrack accident.
