PRE-SEASON training has started at Regentsholme as Lydney begin their work towards a return to the old National Leagues.
The Severnsiders, with new head coach Lee Fortey joining up with team manager Dave Emery, will hope for a swift promotion back from South West One West and the duo are assembling their team for the 2018/19 campaign.
“I’m really excited by the prospect of this new role at Lydney and the chance to immediately work with a talented squad of players,” Fortey, ex-Gloucester prop and brother of current Drybrook coach Chris, commented.
“We have a few experienced heads but have some young exciting prospects that I will look to develop in the first team squad.
“We are also working hard behind the scenes to try and bring in a few new players to strengthen the squad.
“I would also encourage any players who perhaps want to try the next level up to come along to Lydney and give it go at a club who can offer some of the best facilities in the county.”
Interested players should contact Emery on 07887 844347.
The Severnsiders start their league season with a home match against Launceston on Saturday September 1.
