The winner of the Captain’s Shield with 40 points, was Pat Simcoe, who is maintaining his fine run of form of late, a point ahead of Neil James. Just three points separated the top 12..
Countback confirmed Dave Howard’s 38, by virtue of a better back six, pipped Pete Chisholm and Geoff Norris.
Nearest the pin in two on the second was Andy Ward, Gerry Woodley’s tee shot finished 6 inches behind the hole on the eighth. Gary Reddan in two on the 10th, Mike Parry on the 14th, and Chas Challis on the 17th.
They then had of a one-off-shot from 100 yards into the 18th green. The winner of this, was Mike Parry, who in fact, was the only combatant to hit the green.
