LYDNEY Town were left frustrated on Tuesday, February 18, as they suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Brimscombe & Thrupp in the Hellenic Premier League.

After their impressive performance on Saturday, Lydney struggled to find their rhythm in this midweek clash. The first half ended goalless, with neither side able to break the deadlock. It was Brimscombe who took the lead early in the second half, with Harrison Archer finding the net in the 55th minute.

Lydney responded shortly after, with substitute Lucas Vaughan almost scoring an instant equaliser, but his lobbed shot hit the post. Moments later, Lee Smith earned a penalty for Lydney, but his weak attempt was saved by the Brimscombe keeper.

Lydney continued to press, and Jordi Sheen had a header come off the post, but luck was not on their side. As the game wore on, Brimscombe caught Lydney on the break, but goalkeeper Thomas made three brilliant saves to keep his side in the game.

Despite their efforts, Lydney couldn't find a way through, and the match ended 1-0 in favour of Brimscombe.
