CINDERFORD Town will look to strengthen their depleted defence following injuries, says assistant manager Andrew Smith.
Speaking after Town’s 4-2 Southern League Division One South win over Bideford at the Causeway, Smith admitted that he and manager Paul Michael have made a bid for a new signing.
The defensive situation appears close to desperate for Town, having now seen Liam Angel worsen a knee problem after colliding with the post in a goal-line clearance.
“Liam Angel was struggling with his knee before he collided with the post to clear one off the line brilliantly to be fair for him,” Smith said.
“We started the season leaving three boys out of the squad and we’re down to the bare bones now.
“With the budget that we’re going to work on, that’s going to happen, but we trust everyone that’s going to go out there.
