SIBLING rivalry was under the spotlight at Milkwall AFC last week when the Dean’s Thursday Night Darts League held its finals night.
Brothers Chris and Matt Jackson went head to head in the evening’s headlining match as the two Oaklands players fought for the Division One singles title.
Older brother Chris was the victor as he checked out on 40 in the final leg, as Matt attempted a dramatic comeback at 2-0 down.
But his 140 final shot wasn’t enough to stop his older sibling and Chris took the trophy.
Andy Reid of the Upper Bilson won the Division Two singles final 3-0, while Andy Morse and Ben Fishwick defeated Steve Tyler and Mark Chiswell 3-1 to win the Division One doubles final.
A tense final between the New Inn Ruspidge and the Upper Bilson saw the New Inn sneak the Division Two doubles 3-2.
Dirk Vandermade and Steve Curle took advantage of Andy Reid and Dan Gwynne finding themselves unable to check out in the final leg.
Oaklands won the team knockout 8-2 against the Tufthorn Inn as Fishwick scored 180 and teammate Morse checked out on 114 against Roger Scrivens.
Mark Blandford completed a great week of darts as he took home two trophies.
Blandford, of the New Inn Shortstanding, paired with teammate Adam Smith in the Blind Pairs knockout against Louis Wall and Ben Holder of the Soldiers and Sailors Club.
And the Shortstanding pair won 3-1 with Blandford scoring 180 in the third leg.
He also saw off Morse in the Captains and Licensees knockout 3-0 having stormed to success in the Monday Night finals.
