Letter to the Editor: Our Government is spending:

£1.6billion on barges, £6 million a day on hotels, £140-plus million for the Rwanda Scheme, it’s given £630-plus million to France.

Plus other costs associated with asylum applications.

All these £billions spent on fear and hate, rather than just providing refugees with a safe, simple and straightforward means of making an asylum application from a third country, and so providing visas for those facing war, persecution,  injustice and natural disaster.

In this way, they are able to travel using safe routes, to get jobs, pay taxes and become useful citizens.

Of course, this wouldn’t suit the Government, the tabloid press, the likes of GB News, and the far right, who constantly stir the pot of division.

Hate and prejudice are very expensive.
