You’ve probably heard of the old saying “Never work with children or animals”.

Well I do work with children and unsurprisingly, things don’t always go to plan.

For example, when trying to do some mindfulness with a seven-year-old, I made the room comfortable, played some music of waves rolling upon the shore and within the minute she was running around the room imagining an alien shark in the water.

However, I get it because finding moments of peace in our mind, especially with so much going on, is incredibly difficult. \One method I read about recently is to find a quiet spot in the sunshine, away from any cold drafts and close your eyes. \

What colour do you see? How does the sun feel on your cheeks? Tingling? Burning?

As you feel the warmth, imagine that Jesus is stood in front of you. The Brightness and warmth is His light and love and His words to you are “Know this, I love you and am always with you”

It might take some practice and maybe you’ll get nosedived by a bee or two, but maybe you’ll find a moment of your mind full of God’s peace and love?
