LYDBROOK will be getting its Post Office back more than three years after the last one closed.

Central Stores, in the middle of the village, will be hosting the new Post Office which is expected to open on March 7.

Former village postmaster Stuart Manning, who ran a small shop and post office opposite Central Stores, was forced to retire due to an illness in September 2008.

"Everyone in the village is over the moon with it," said Alison Mills, joint owner of Central Stores.
