HOUSEHOLDER Adrian Wilce has hit out at overzealous traffic wardens after one slapped a ticket on his truck at 7.55am.

Adrian regularly parks his van in the council car park in front of his house in Cinderford' s Heywood Road overnight so he can keep an eye on it.

But his partner Angie Stubbs said she had been assured that they did not need to buy a £50 overnight permit that allows residents to park between 5pm and 9am.

She said Adrian only moves his van onto the car park at night and leaves for work before the new parking charges come into force at 8am.

Now the angry couple have vowed to challenge the ticket which was issued at 7.55am.

"Nowhere does it say no overnight parking," said Angie.

"The notice states charges apply between 8am and 6pm, so why are they issuing tickets five minutes before they start?

"It's not just us. I know one lady who works in town who buys a weekly ticket and was issued with one.

"The council has brought this in without proper consultation with the residents and the wardens are being over zealous.

"I know somebody in Bath who pays £90 for residents' parking, so why would you pay £50 for Cinderford?

"It's really difficult to park in Bath and there's something to go there for.

"The car park in Cinderford is half empty and there are hardly any shops."
