COLEFORD Town Council has given its support to the building of a new £1 million community church on the site of Lawnstone House.

The congregation of St John's is looking for a new home after their church was deemed not fit for purpose in March.

St John's Church in Boxbush Road needs around £1.8million of repairs and the diocese believes it would cost a further £25,000 a year to maintain. The building is currently for sale.
