TWENTY-six schools around the Forest of Dean suffered problems due to the snow on Friday, with only one – Ruardean Church of England School – open for a limited period.
Icy and snow-bound footpaths and roads made it too dangerous for students at the majority of the schools, form Aylburton to Yorkley, to open for the day.
All of them said they would be open as usual on Monday February 4 as there is expected to be a quick thaw over the weekend.
Ruardean Church of England School said they would be open late at 10.30am but advised students to bring a packed lunch and only travel to school if they felt it was safe to do so.
