NEW RESEARCH has suggested the South West is one of the most popular UK holiday destinations for families.

Experts at Together Travel analysed the latest Domestic Sentiment Tracker from Visit Britain. It revealed that 56% of respondents would travel to the region with their partner, and 36% would take their children.

Few areas in the UK performed better with this data. Wales had the highest figures, with 60% of respondents saying they would travel there with their partner and 37% with their children.

Together Travel’s Zak Ali, who analysed the data said: “One of the best things about a holiday is how flexible you can be with it. “Many times, we get wrapped up in where to go, what to do, and when to go, but we often take for granted who to go with.

“Next time you're planning a holiday, take a step back and think, actually, could we bring our parents with us, or our grandkids, or split the holiday with our friends or colleagues.

“It’s so lovely to see people branching out and bringing others with them on holiday – there's something special about sharing your favourite destination with loved ones or exploring a new place together.”

The analysis also showed the poorest performers, with London the worst for this metric. Only 47% of respondents said they would take their partner and 20% would take their children.
