THE Broadwell woman who beat 66-year-old Gerald Nott to death in October 2014, has been jailed for seven-and-a-half years.
Earlier this month a jury of three women and nine men at Bristol Crown Court found Amanda Louise Howard, aged 46, from Edinburgh Place, Broadwell, not guilty of murder of the retired landscape gardener, but convicted her instead with manslaughter, following a two-week trial.
Mr Nott had died at his Queensway home in Broadwell from a subdural brain haemorrhage.
"This was an attack on a vulnerable man in his own home while inflamed by drink," said Judge Neil Ford QC.
"You've shown no remorse whatsoever and even blamed others for the fatal injuries."
