THE four entries in a competition to create a new piece of public art for Coleford are now on display at the town’s Tourist Information office in Lord’s Hill.
They will be on show until November 8 giving visitors to the centre the opportunity to vote for their favourite.
Councillor Nick Penny Mayor of Coleford said: “This is a dynamic and exciting part of this Council’s four year plan to enhance the parish of Coleford. The four artists who have entered artworks have all given very different interpretations of the brief. I am amazed at their imagination and ingenuity.
“While the Town Council will make the final decision we are very keen to know what the community thinks. This vote will have a significant bearing on the decision the Council makes.”
Annie Lappington, Clerk to the Town Council, said: “People have shown a fair amount of interest and most of the visitors to the Tourist Information Centre have voted.
“We are hoping that as many residents as possible come in to vote over the next couple of weeks.”
The entrants were Vicky Thornton, Tom Cousins, Tim Mould and a joint entry from Diane Gorvin and Phil Bews.
