DISTRICT leaders say they might consider revisiting council car parking charges after they spent last Saturday getting the views of residents and businesses in Cinderford.
Council Leader Tim Gwilliam says there is a possibility the new leadership team at Forest of Dean District Council could revisit the decision after hearing that the issue is still a concern for businesses in Cinderford.
Cllr Gwilliam and members of his newly formed cabinet said it was great to get out and speak to residents about their concerns.
He said: “Car parking charges is still an issue for businesses in Cinderford.
“We aren’t making any promises but we might revisit car parking charges, but it depends on the reaction we get from the other towns yet.
“It was really good to speak to residents and businesses and get their views on what they think needs improving in the Forest.”
• This Saturday the district council’s cabinet will be at Newerne Street in Lydney from 10.30am till noon. And on August 5 the cabinet members will be at Newent Market Square at the same time and will round off their town visits at Coleford Clock Tower on August 12.
