CINDERFORD Town produced their best result of the season away at Paulton Rovers, but boss Steve Peters insists there's plenty more to come from his young side.
In-form Rovers started the day in second place in the South & West Division of the Southern League and were previously unbeaten at home.
However, an 88th minute winner from an unlikely source, centre-half Greg Lewis, gave Cinderford a win that will make their play-off rivals sit up and take notice.
Peters (pictured) said: "We got a bit of stick after the cup games with Clevedon and Poole Town so I'm pleased for the boys, they worked their socks off and deserved it, although we had to ride our luck at times.
"I went to watch Paulton last Tuesday and we came up with a gameplan. The boys stuck to it and it worked."
Cinderford's away form this season is the best in the league – they've won four out of five on the road at difficult venues, Stourport Swifts, Halesowen, Gosport Borough and now Paulton. They also drew 1-1 at Sholing.
Surprisingly, it's at The Causeway where they've sometimes struggled.
"I think playing away suits us because we're a good counter-attacking team," said Peters.
"We like to play on the break."
Defender Greg Lewis, who scored the winning goal versus Paulton, also drew praise from his manager, who said: "Greg is the sort of person I'd like next to me in the trenches. If I told him to run into a brick wall he would."
