THERE’s treasure hunting ahoy as the Dean Theatre Company brings its latest show to Lydney Town Hall.
They are headed to Treasure Island for their summer panto in a show based on Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic adventure.
Arrival on the island has been delayed because of Covid but cast and crew are ready to go for the run of three shows.
Producer and director Caroline Foligno said: “When The Dean Theatre Company started their not-for-profit amateur theatre company in The Forest of Dean in June 2019, no-one had even heard of Covid-19.
“This show was scheduled for January 2021 and after several lockdowns and postponements, we are now at last able to bring this spectacular pantomime to the Lydney Town Hall stage.”
It tells the story of poor Ma Hawkins and her son Jim who craves adventure.
He gets his chance when a treasure map is discovered – but Long John Silver and his band of pirates also have their eyes on the loot.
The show runs from Friday (July 1) until Sunday at 7pm with weekend matinees at 2pm.
Tickets are £10.
