AN eight-year campaign to get a bus link installed onto a Lydney housing estate is finally coming to fruition.

When the first occupants moved onto the Oakdale estate in 2010/11, the residents were promised safe and proper access to and from the town by bus.

Eventually, a link road was built by the developers as part of the conditional infrastructure terms, but the scheme was never adopted or implemented by the local authority.
