SGS COLLEGE is soon to deliver a new course in the Forest of Dean aimed at helping residents explore career opportunities in the growing green sector.
The 'Introduction to Green Skills Careers' course will guide participants through the latest renewable technologies and job roles available in this rapidly expanding field.
The course covers key topics such as air source heat pumps, solar thermal systems, and battery storage—technologies that are becoming vital as the UK strives towards its Net Zero target. It also looks at methods of retrofitting and how these approaches can contribute to reducing carbon emissions.
Partnering with the Forest of Dean District Council, SGS College aims to equip learners with practical knowledge of renewable energy systems and the pathways to enter this career market.
The course, free to attend, will be held at a local community centre (with the venue to be confirmed). Lunch will be provided, and there’s even support available for transport costs.
With a mix of practical activities and group discussions, participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and gain hands-on experience.
Those considering a career change or simply interested in learning more about green technologies, this course offers a valuable starting point.
