A 59-year-old Lydney woman who was racially abusive towards a man at the Amigo Mexican Grill and Bar in the town has been banned from going to the eatery for a year.
Lorraine Hancock of Queen Street pleaded guilty at Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court to using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour towards Saban Sasmaz at the restaurant in Newerne Street July 25 2021 with intent to cause him to believe violence might be used.
The court found that her behaviour towards him was racially aggravated and ordered her to pay him £100 compensation as well as costs of £85 and a £95 surcharge.
She was made subject to a 12-month community order with mental health treatment requirement and she must participate in up to 10 days of rehabilitation activities.
The court also made a restraining order banning her from going to Amigos at any time.
The order lasts until June 26 next year.
