FORENSIC police are investigating the theft of a cash point machine from Lydney’s Co-operative food store on Friday morning.

It is understood that the raiders first stole a JCB mechanical digger from a Lydney farmer before targeting the supermarket shortly before 2.25am on May 17.

Police said that two vehicles had been used in the raid to remove the cash machine from the wall were all found nearby.
