A HOSPICE in the Forest of Dean has been drumming up much-needed cash by restoring unwanted bikes and selling them off to members of the public.
Great Oaks Hospice needs £600,000 a year to fund its services and a large chunk of its income comes from its shops, fundraising events, donations, legacies and grants.
The ongoing coronavirus pandemic has forced the hospice to close its seven charity shops and many fundraising events have been axed - prompting the hospice to find new ways of making money.
And one of those ventures, which has already drummed up £6,500, has been sprucing up bikes and selling them on.

The bikes can be found at Fieldway, Lydney Road in Yorkey, GL15 4RR. It’s at The Bailey end of the lay-by opposite the school.
