FOREST Hills retained the Mo Pearce Tee-Pot Challenge, although the Forest of Dean Golf Club pushed them all the way in their annual challenge.

The first leg at Forest Hills ended all square at 3-3. The second leg at Bells also finished 3-3, but Hills keep the trophy by virtue of being the holders.

The second leg began with a one hole win for Forest of Dean pair Benn Jackson & Jamie Smith against Ed Breton & Dave Robinson. Hills took the next two games, however, Roy Powell & Simon Killen seeing off Mike Price & Bryn Roberts by two holes, and Roger Hall & Alan Powell beating Malcolm Beach & Geoff Bale by one hole. Bells levelled the match with a 4&3 success for Andy Batten & John Beeston over Geoff Pearson & Allen Spencer.

Hills retained the trophy when Paul Dobbs & Alan March edged home 2&1 against Paul Foster & Tony Meek. There was a resounding final match win for Bells, with Nigel Cartwright & Jim Cawthorn hammering Ian Cleevely & Tony Meagher 5&4.
