GREAT Western Air Ambulance Charity (GWAAC) has given a Christmas message to foresters ahead of the festive break.
The charity, which provides critical emergency care across the South West, wished to remind residents of the forest that it is ready to help at a moment’s notice over the Christmas break, and hopes foresters can help its cause.
GWAAC reminded residents they can donate to its winter appeal, visit its shop, join in at one of its upcoming events, and vote in the Smiley Charity Film Awards, which The Forester recently reported on.
A spokesperson said: “Your support can give every patient their best chance of survival. A donation today can help people like Ann; a Gloucestershire mum, grandmother and teacher who suffered a cardiac arrest at home. GWAAC’s specialist crew placed Ann on life support at her home ready for a safe transfer to hospital. This intervention formed a vital part of the chain of survival for Ann, meaning she can look forward to many more Christmases with her family.”
Foresters who want to shop with GWAAC can visit the local Cinderford branch on 8 High Street, where you can find some ideal Christmas gifts. You can also visit the branch on December 5 between 11am and 2pm for a Christmas Tombola event.
GWAAC said: “Join in the fun at a fabulous festive event in aid of GWAAC. From carol services to tractor runs to bazaars and a tombola, come along to a Christmas event to support GWAAC in the Forest of Dean and beyond. If you’d like to run your own festive event to help keep GWAAC’s critical care and air ambulance service operational, contact us for support.”
It added: “GWAAC would like to wish everyone in the Forest of Dean and Gloucestershire, a very happy Christmas!”
