GLOUCESTERSHIRE County Council has selected the best performing vehicles and methods following trials and assessment from July 2024.
In July, machines went ‘head-to-head’ and since then engineers monitored the repairs and assessed the results. The council found ‘The Roadmender’ performed very well.
The county council will also use a ‘spray injection patching machine’ and Bobcat. The council says it will continue to invest in pothole repairs and have more teams fixing smaller potholes.
Cllr Stephen Davies, Leader of Gloucestershire County Council said “We’re using new technology to transform highways services. I’m delighted with the results of the trial and we’ll continue to innovate because we’re dedicated to improving your streets.”
