BUS company Stagecoach West, which operates a number of services in the Forest, has a new operations director.

George Soon began with Stagecoach on a graduate scheme in 2018 and comes after successfully managing the company’s operations in Oxford.

George has held Stagecoach management positions at Northampton, Carlisle, Fenstanton in Cambrideshire and Peterborough depots before taking the reins at Stagecoach Oxford, in 2022. There he managed a team of 250 and run 85 vehicles.

Managing Director of Stagecoach West, Chris Hanson, says: “George brings a wealth of experience and grounding in Stagecoach procedures alongside a passionate enthusiasm for developing the business and prioritising our staff and customers. I look forward to seeing the amazing things George will deliver in this strategic role.”

As Operations Director, George will assume direct responsibility for leading the operations team across multiple Stagecoach West depots and outstations, overseeing around 450 vehicles and leading a team of over 750 members of staff.”
