A PRESTIGIOUS awards evening was held for the The Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service at Stonehouse Court Hotel on Tuesday, October 15.
Nine members received the ‘Twenty Years Long Service and Good Conduct Medal,’ honouring their commitment alongside family and colleagues. This medal reflects two decades of hard work and dedication, showcasing the resilience and spirit of the individuals who protect our communities.
The Chief Fire Officer Recognition Award was presented to the logistics and resources team for their outstanding work on the new uniform project. Their efforts have transformed the appearance of the service, instilling pride among firefighters.
Cllr Dave Norman also honoured the finance and compliance team for their vital role in ensuring the service operates efficiently and effectively, navigating contracts and financial management with expertise.
The evening also introduced the Workplace Charter Awards, recognising colleagues who exemplify the values of the service. Chief fire officer Mark Preece noted: “It was an honour to celebrate with our staff and their families at these awards. It provided an invaluable opportunity to recognise the hard work of our staff.”
This event reinforced the importance of the contributions made by the service to the communities across the Forest of Dean, highlighting the teamwork and dedication that keep residents safe every day.
