THE LOCAL community is coming together to support Newent resident Nina Sullivan and her family, who lost everything in a devastating house fire just weeks before Christmas.

Christina Budding has launched a GoFundMe campaign to help them rebuild their lives.

Ms Budding explained her goal in a heartfelt appeal: "I’m setting up a GoFundMe to help a family in a difficult time. They’ve just had a fire in their home and lost everything. They need clothes, food, and household items, but I want to raise money so they can get some new bits when they find a new home. They’ve lost all their memories and life that was in that house."

Ms Sullivan, who escaped the fire with her two daughters, two rabbits, and their dog, shared her emotional response to the tragedy: “Our family home was destroyed by fire on Wednesday. Every time I shut my eyes, I can see it and hear it ripping through our house and destroying everything in its path and left us with nothing.”

Despite the overwhelming loss, Ms Sullivan expressed deep gratitude for the immediate help from neighbours, friends, family, and even strangers: "I am so overwhelmed and taken back by the massive amount of support and love that this absolutely incredible community has given us."

Ms Budding provided an update on the fundraiser: "We have been very shocked by all the donations and money raised for the lovely family. With Christmas only days away, we still want this family to have their lives back. If you can help in any way, that would be great."

The family remains in urgent need as they work to recover from this tragedy. Donations to the GoFundMe page will go towards providing them with essentials and ensuring they can find comfort during this difficult time.
