The Forest of Dean Camera Club is gearing up to play a key role in documenting a series of local events over the next few months.
The club’s involvement will include setting up stalls, photographing events, and contributing to the promotion of various community activities.
The season begins with the Bream Garden Show on August 17. Established in 1865, this annual event features a variety of competitions, including those for autumn harvest produce, handicrafts, jams and chutneys, flower arrangements, and photography.
The Camera Club will provide photographic coverage, helping organisers build a portfolio of images for future promotional use.
The club will also attend the Parkend Carnival on the August Bank Holiday. Celebrating its 46th year, the carnival is one of the major local events of the summer.
Club members will be present to capture the festivities, easily identifiable by their distinctive purple sweatshirts.
On Sunday, September 8, the Camera Club will cover the Vintage Vehicle Festival at the Speech House. This event will feature an action-packed demonstration by the Fire Service, showcasing their response to road traffic accidents.
The Forest Showcase Food Festival, scheduled for Sunday, October 6 at the Speech House, will also feature contributions from the camera club where they will display a selection of their photographs as part of the festival’s offerings.
Anyone interested in photography can attend the Pre-Season Open Event at Viney Hill Social Club on Sunday, September 1 to view and discuss photographic work while enjoying refreshments.
