GLOUCESTERSHIRE Police are investigating a high value commercial burglary in Parkend where £20,000 worth of bikes were stolen during the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Shortly before 2.30am on November 6 the constabulary received a report of a break in at Dean Forest Cycles, in New Road, where offenders had smashed the front windows of the building to gain access and made off in a vehicle.
Police officers responded immediately and conducted a thorough search of the surrounding area, during which they discovered the vehicle that they suspected had been used in the raid.
The vehicle, a white Ford transit van, failed to stop for the officers.
During the ongoing pursuit, a stinger device was used that brought the vehicle to a halt near to Westgate Island in Gloucester where it collided with a parked car.
The two occupants, believed to be men, made off on foot and have not yet been located.
Investigating officers would like to hear from anyone who saw any suspicions vehicles or has information which would help to identify the offenders to call them on 101 and quote incident number 26 of November 6.
Forest Inspector Andy Hodgetts said: "This was excellent work by our officers who responded immediately to the call and successfully traced the offending vehicle and recovered the stolen property.
"Efforts to identify and locate the offenders will continue this week, whilst neighbourhood officers will be on patrol in the local areas to provide reassurance to members of the community."
