BELLWAY has just released the first computer-generated images of its eagerly anticipated development in Lydney.
The new Forest Walk project, which will feature 200 homes, has been thoughtfully designed to complement the architectural style of the area while addressing local housing needs.
A notable aspect of the development is its focus on sustainability. The homes at Forest Walk will come with energy-efficient features, including solar panels and electric vehicle charging points.
The newly unveiled images showcase the modern yet fitting designs that will characterise the development, giving a glimpse of how the homes will blend with the existing surroundings once construction is completed.
Daniel Shone, head of sales at Bellway, emphasised the project's commitment to sustainability and said: “Sustainability is at the heart of our plan for Forest Walk. It runs through everything from construction methods and how the homes are powered and insulated, to the protection of the local ecology and wildlife.”
The Forest Walk development is part of a larger scheme set to deliver 320 properties. Bellway will invest £2.9 million in local infrastructure, including education and road improvements, as part of its planning agreement.
Out of the 200 homes being built, 30 are designated as affordable housing, providing valuable options for residents.
The properties at Forest Walk will primarily be three and four-bedroom houses, featuring designs from Bellway’s Artisan Collection. The architecture will incorporate traditional elements such as dormer windows, bay windows, and chimneys, with a colour palette and materials like red brick, light render walls, and slate grey or black roof tiles that reflect the town's established character.
The development will also include extensive green spaces, including a green corridor through the site leading to a large parkland area. This focus on natural spaces highlights Bellway’s commitment to creating a sustainable and well-integrated community.
Forest Walk follows Bellway’s successful Archer’s Walk project in Lydney, where 90 homes were completed.
